New York Airport Hotels

Many times, business travelers find it convenient to book hotels near the airport to avoid the frequent traffic jams in New York City. Realizing this need, a number of hotels have established themselves near the airports, servicing New York City. Many business travelers also prefer to stay in the relatively unpolluted surroundings afforded by hotels near the airports, when compared to their Downtown counterparts.

Many customers, particularly international tourists, may find hotels near the airports inconvenient for their needs. The tourists usually prefer hotels near Downtown areas for easy access to popular sites. In an effort to counter the location disadvantage perceived by the tourists, hotels near the airports usually offer special amenities, such as shuttle service to and from New York City, to their customers. This is necessary because of the large distances between the various airports and New York City. The hotels also arrange tours into the city. Most rent-a-car companies also have their pickup and drop-off points close to the airport hotels, to provide added convenience to the hotel customers.

Amazingly, JFK Airport provides service to over 100 airlines and 35,000,000 people travel through the airport each year. The shuttle service to and from JFK Airport takes over 90 minutes, but brings the customer right back to the hotel, especially if the customer is visiting places in downtown or midtown. LaGuardia Airport is located 8 miles from Manhattan and the Newark Airport is about 12 miles from midtown Manhattan. Both of these airports offer a large selection of flights and are just as busy as JFK airport.

It is advisable though not usually necessary, for the traveler to make advance reservations at hotels located near the airports. Travelers can usually find good bargains and best deals at the hotels near the airports. This is because they are usually not as popular, with American and international tourists, as hotels in Downtown areas or areas near tourist attractions.
